The haptics feature is broken. The only vibrations I get is while pausing the game with the physical BACK button. Thanks to the test app, I determined that it's not the new Android library that is the cause, that works properly.
Due to all of the above, it appears that something on the GMS side of things activates/deactivates the haptic feedback at the wrong time.
