The idea is that the main game remains the same, but with one slight alteration:
Every act (both past and future versions) has an additional hidden pathway containing a Flicky to find (I originally wanted to make it a Chao like in Sonic Advance 3, but it has been pointed out to me that if I wanted to remain faithful to Sonic 3K/CD, Flickies were a better choice; Red Rings or SA medals are also an option) .
Once a Flicky has been found, it permanently disappears from the game, even if a new save file is started or the game is played in a No-Save mode. A new type of save file must be created, one that tracks down found Flickies and the unlockables they provide.
In order to help track down the Flickies, a new menu should be implemented, one that shows all Flickies in a grid, by act. What they unlock is TBD, be it game modes (see the other issues I created below) or artwork if there’s any available.
Other than that, the main game and the ending remain unchanged.
Obviously, no Flickies can be found in Galacnik Gauntlet.
