Notifications #671

Since today update notifications both for macOS and iOS are not working properly. Also, on macOS badge with number of unread messages doesn't appear at all.

@overtake Default notification sound is broken. For some reason it is always Tri-tone, but it should be like:

Check sound settings in notifications.

Updated Telegram - still issue with notifications and badge icon

Both last stable and AppStore ver - notifications issue. Notification starts work only after changing notification style in system settings and only during the current session and only tri-tone sound if choosing default. After restarting the app issues appear again. Badges seem ok.

Any updates on this? Still — the today's Telegram version, but no notifications, no badges. Latest macOS Big Sur 11.6, M1.

Hey for everyone having this issue, I solved it by

  1. Uninstalling the app completely by using AppCleaner
  2. Restarting the macbook
  3. Downloading the last stable version
  4. Going to Telegram -> Settings -> Notifications and sounds -> Reset notifications

After that I got the notification asking to enable telegram notifications and so far is working fine

Guys, last update didn't fix the problem, but create a new one. Now I do not see even notifications (everything is enabled both in app and Mac settings). I hear only sounds but do not see notification.

@ kevinv519, I did reset notifications once. After that all my archived or muted chats were pushing notifications and I've got almost 200K+ notifications showed on iPhone. I had to mute/archive every single chat again ...

Sorry about that @denbuzdugan I didn't notice that side effect because I didn't have muted chats... That's how I got it to work at least 😕

No joy for me. The option for badges is still missing (8.3 (223733) AppStore, macOS 12.1/M1 Max, also tried direct download):

As you can also see from that screenshot, Telegram Lite's badges are working just fine.

Notifications disappeared on 8.4.1 (225774) Stable 😢

OK, I was just searching about similar issue because luck of bubbles was kinda annoying. From the quick check it seems that the issue is related to newer macOSes (BigSur? Definitely Monterey). I have the same version of Telegram (from brew) on Catalina and it works without issue but there is no bubble option on newly configured and installed Telegram on Monterey.
