This is probably caused by mismatch between MyCharacterController Ray shotgun area and BulletPhysics collision shape after collision shape location got fixed in https://github.com/overte-org/overte/pull/866
This is most visible with avatars which have collision capsule vertical axis intersects floor plane far from the 0,0 point.
