A pcc comes with a 2001:0db8:1234:bb00::/56 there is 256 /64 block

E 2001:0db8:1234:bb00::/64 (delivered like today , gateway in 2001:db8:1234:bb00:ffff:ffff:ffff:ffff) then customer chooses how many /64 block he wants to route

F1 2001:0db8:1234:bb01::/64 (delivered on 2001:db8:1234:bb00::1 - enforced IP or configurable in...:bb00::/64) F2 2001:0db8:1234:bb02::/64 (livré sur 2001:db8:1234:bb00::1 - enforced IP or configurable) depending on how many /64 blocks the customer choose to route ... (up to 255)

F255 2001:0db8:1234:bbff::/64 (livré sur 2001:db8:1234:bb00::1 - enforced IP or configurable)

This is a meaningful function. I hope this will be made available very soon.

Ping. 🧐

Where are we with this? It took me years to get this request into some roadmap. Will it take years to leave "backlog" status and see some POC available?

Hello @omascia, if I understand correctly, this need should be satisfied with Additional IPv6 in vRack (https://github.com/ovh/infrastructure-roadmap/issues/115) that we're releasing soon.

omascia commented 5 months ago

https://labs.ovhcloud.com/en/additional-ipv6-with-vrack/ That is interesting for vRack. And might be a workaround. At least it looks like. Though... The routed features prepared for vRack are precisely what is missing from IPv6 attached / released with PCC, and asked for in this topic. Why not get the routed feature on IPv6 block attached to PCC, too? I fear the current state will imply to get another /56 for vRack, redesign networking internal to virtual datacenter based on vRack (for public access), and then abandon the /56 delivered with PCC, fully unused definitely. Sounds strange, isn't it?

We noticed that Public IPv6 has been removed from both regular PCC as well as SNC PCC. No public IP available and no possibility to activate it on OVH krafted NSX-T. This is highly surprising at the time where French Governement and Europe is pushing enterprises to support and migrate there services towards IP-V6 ! What is the roadmap to bring internet IP-V6 to PCC/NSX-T ?

Thanks, Didier
