Tech nonprofit based in Berkeley, CA. Replate matches extra food with communities in need. Their platform enables charities and hungry individuals to recover food donations based on their needs and location.
Core Challenge
Even if a small tech nonprofit can put together a performant web-platform, supporting it in production over months and years requires knowledge, experience, and hard work. How can we help the tech nonprofit Replate build the infrastructure, systems, and processes they need to support a mission-critical platform for the long run?
Projects
Efficiency Audit The main platform is built using Ruby on Rails and React, and is supported by a single engineering lead. Replate would love a senior-level engineer or highly technical engineering manager to mentor our lead engineer during our hyper growth period, and help auditing our code. This would include working closely with our engineer to review code, spec projects, and advise on building a scalable architecture.
Data Flow We would like to better leverage the information created through our application and improve monitoring. By doing so, we believe that we can improve our infrastructure, our efficiency, and deliver more food.
Food Recovery App We are building a mobile app to complement our web-platform and hope to release it in March 2018. Advice and guidance from React-Native experts would be super useful to help us deliver the best experience possible to our users.
Recipients Portal In a sense, we are a B2B company, we get food from corporate clients and deliver it to organizations and shelters. We would like to develop a portal to better engage with our recipients, better understand how much food is delivered and keep improving their experience.
