Support for gear fit? #7

I have the Galaxy s5 and the gear fit and would give anything to get rid of the icon for the fit. I see that the gear 2 and neo are supported, so I was wondering if the fit will be supported soon. Thanks.

Have you tried to see if it works? I havent tested with a gear fit as i dont own one. Please let me know if it works or not.

Apologies for the delay, I have just pushed a new build, 1.4. This will not add support for gear fit, but it does include an option for debug logging.

For me to add support for gear fit, please download this new version (1.4 BETA). You may need to change the settings in Xposed installer to show you beta versions.

Once installed, please open the settings page of the module and tick the box "Enable Debug Log" Restart the device Wait for the gear notifications to appear Go to the logs page in Xposed Installer Tap menu, send, and send it to me at owen @ owenworley. co. uk

Hi @coxcj77

I have added a new build to xposed repo, it is version 1.41 and contains some optional debug logging.

Please can you install this new version, go to the settings of this module, enable debug log, reboot, wait for the gear notifications to appear and send me the logs?

The logs will contain the package names of applications that add ongoing notifications (gear notifications are ongoing).

I can then add the package name for the gear fit manager to the list of notifications to block, once this is done I can upload a new version that will support your gear fit along with the watches it currently supports.

You didn't post anything, or it was lost when posting... If you are using the built in send option in xposed log view you need to email it to me directly, sending it to the github email seems to strip the logs?

I'm new to this, so hopefully we can get this figured out. I had to get on my computer to open the log file that I emailed and copied the data below. I hope this helps. Thanks for you patience.

I downloaded the new version, installed it, then rebooted. I even tried uninstalling it and redoing it. Both times went without a problem, except for the notification still being there. Did you reboot after installing? Is it definately enabled?

Hmm. I will need to add some additional logging to find out why, i will upload a new build tommorow. When its ready, can you install it and do the same steps to enable logging and post the logs. I will make the logging print the content of the notifications detected so that it will be obvious which notifications are the ones to block.

Hi @coxcj77

I just uploaded a new build, 1.43, to the xposed repo.

Please can you do the following: Install 1.43, enable it and enable logging. Go to the logs view in xposed and clear the log (in the menu button) Reboot the device. When the device starts up, please wait until the point where the notifications from the gear fit are shown. Go to the xposed log view and get the logs, paste them here.

The new logging will show the package name and the contents of the notification, this way I can see which package is making the notification that say something like "Gear connected (owens gear)" or similiar.

If there is any personal data in the logs feel free to remove it before posting. Just please keep the important bits of the log (where it says stuff about gear fit)

Well this is weird...

Thats the line I was looking for, it means that the app with package name "com.samsung.android.wms" is the one generating the notification saying "Co nected to gear fit"

The thing is though, the last version i created (1.42) was meant to be blockong them, so it looks like i will need to work out why they arent blocked when the same method works for the gear1 and gear2...

Thanks for your help so far, i will let you know when i have something more to test - hopefully it wont take too long :)

Owen, any luck on it? I installed the lastest from Github and it does not block the notification for the gear fit.
