whenever we have a conjunction between verbs, we should annotate it in the dep label, as we will have to rewrite it.

e.g The women are singing and dancing

1 The the DET DT 2 det DT|?|? 2 women woman NOUN NNS 4 nsubj NNS|10787470-n|Woman= 3 are be VERB VBP 4 aux VBP|02604760-v|Entity+ 4 singing sing VERB VBG 0 ROOT VBG|01731031-v|MakingVocalMusic= 5 and and CONJ CC 4 cc CC|?|? 6 dancing dance NOUN NN 4 conj VBG|01708676-v|Dancing+

should produce something like cc_verb (dancing is not noun, but verb!), which needs to give us The women are singing and The women are dancing

It seems that such issues of conjunctions are dealt with in the enhanced Dependencies of Stanford. All three problematic sentences referenced above, seem to be treated correctly:

  1. A large tennis ball is being used to teach a dog to run in the grass and catch it with its mouth
  2. The man is playing the guitar and has the guitar case open for donations
  3. The women are singing and dancing

Thanks for the info @kkalouli !

have you seen stats in https://github.com/own-pt/rte-sick/blob/master/expanded/conllu/all.conllu.stats.xml ? they use the scripts for Dan Zeman in http://universaldependencies.org/tools.html#ud-maintained-tools can you produce similar ones for enhanced dependencies?
