The newest version allows you to skip updates. Obviously, we cannot change this retrospectively.
okay. Is the notified nicer as well?
and related: why are the packages at opensuse-buildservice out of date?
It's still a message box, albeit dismissable until the next update, and it will stay that way.
What do you mean out of date? Are you using this repo? http://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=isv%3AownCloud%3Adevel&package=owncloud-client
And one of the distros listed in gereen here? https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=owncloud-client&project=isv%3AownCloud%3Adevel
okay, seems i had only community-repo, not the devel-repo. What about the other points?
@jancborchardt ?
when i start mirall, it shows a messagebox-dialog, that there is an update available. I think there are three issues with this:
1) It would be better use a passive notification, because the messagebox is annoying and because of the short start delay it shows, when the user does not expect any window anymore. There are good ways for passive notifications, like the plasma-notifications 2) how does mirall know from the update anyway? Is it "phoning home"? I did not see a setting to disable this 3) I use the debian packages, and they are just a bit older. Please do not always remember me, that the latest release on the homepage is newer, i know it and chose to keep using the .deb-packages.
