Images and Videos not showing in Media Viewer when Share Files app is disabled #240

Open fsutil opened 4 years ago

I had difficulty getting the new Media Viewer app to show images or videos in ownCloud 10.3.2 and 10.4.1. After troubleshooting, I figured out that the issue was that I had previously disabled the Share Files app. Without that enabled, the shell of Media Viewer app would open, but no picture or video would be visible.

Is this dependency known and/or documented somewhere?

I am having the same issue with the Media Viewer app. Unfortunately, I must have removed the Share Files app and I can't find it in the Market to fix this issue with Media Viewer.

Does the Share Files app show up for you under Settings > Apps > Show disabled apps? It's one of the official apps so I don't think you can uninstall it from the GUI.

Well, I feel sheepish. I didn't even see that button at the top for "Show disabled apps". Yes, the Share Files app was disabled. Enabling it fixed the Media Viewer problem for me.

That said, Media Viewer probably still shouldn't depend on Share Files app. At least there is a workaround for the Media Viewer in the time being.

Thanks!
