I don't want to make this a generic +1 comment, but this is one of the things that is holding me back from migrating my stack to ocis.
Especially if I have a large file that has multiple versions - a way to control it's retention would be nice. Or delete old versions. At the bare-minimum, we should know what the stock retention/purging settings are. This was both configurable and very clearly documented in the previous backend - see https://doc.owncloud.com/server/next/admin_manual/configuration/files/file_versioning.html
Was the old space management behaviour carried forward? In the link above:
The versions app never uses more than 50% of the user’s storage quota. If the stored versions exceed this limit, ownCloud deletes the oldest file versions until it meets the disk space limit again. |

Does this still apply in ocis?

I'm not certain what the etiquette around the stale bot is. But this issue is (IMO) not stale and should not be closed. Documentation needs to be updated to reflect the expected behaviour of OCIS vs the old owncloud server.
@tbsbdr I think we need to move this forward. We need a cleanup mechanism.
Proposal:
@tbsbdr A simple way to disable versions entirely for specific spaces would also be nice.
No documentation or setting UI about Version Control available now
I see old versions of files in the web client, but don't know how to delete them, or will them be deleted automatically somewhen in the future? Nothing about version control is mentioned in the documentation.
