Hi.

Im using forked-daapd 24.1 (compiled from github on ubuntu 16.04.

I can see and play the songs on itunes 12.5.121 but if i made modifications to my music folder (remove or add itemes) the log shows the changes but itunes didnt show the modifications until i disconect and reconect the library on itunes.

is that normal behavior or im doing something wrong?

I think this is normal, but not sure. To get the updates iTunes would need to make a special connection to forked-damps and I don't remember ever seeing it do that, so I am not sure that iTunes has the ability. Maybe someone with more iTunes experience than me can say.

I just tested this. Indeed, even in its later version iTunes (which only exists for Windows nowadays, on macOS, it is Music, which is slightly different), the refresh is not done properly. But iTunes / Music is not good at all to refresh a local library. Actually it can't do it, unless you force it to do it again. I created a script for macOS for that purpose (refreshing tracks). Therefore, in my opinion, there is nothing OwnTone can do in these circumstances.
