[BUG] <Audio not recorded properly on Ubuntu Desktop, or MacOS with MacOS Laptop> #2947

Is there an existing issue for this?

Current Behavior

Audio messages on Ubuntu and MacOS do not appear to work. No audio is recorded. Replaying recorded audio has no volume.

It either has no access to the microphone, and/or does not allow requesting access to recording microphone device.

Expected Behavior

Add function to request audio recording device, and/or allow selection of audio recording device.

Using Pulse Audio control to switch audio recording input to Apple Thunderbolt monitor for example only results in an intermittent beeping sound on replay, doot... doot... doot... doot...

Steps To Reproduce

  1. start session with other user
  2. record and add audio message
  3. replay audio message

Observe there is no sound.

Desktop Version

1.11.4 Flatpak

Anything else?
