That appears to be the problem specific to ubuntu's snap distribution of session-desktop. Camera works if the app is downloaded from the site...
https://github.com/popey/session-desktop-snap/issues/5 This is now fixed in snap store.

Is there an existing issue for this?
Current Behavior
Ubuntu 23.10 All apps can work with the built-in camera in my notebook, but session-desktop doesn't see it. When I click to the camera button during call, I just get the pop-up that camera not detected.
Expected Behavior
Camera should work, just like it does in other apps.
Steps To Reproduce
Desktop Version
1.11.4
Anything else?
Its quite difficult to even test that behavior. I can add myself to my contacts, but the call to myself is not available. There seem to be no camera settings in the config UI as well. So just to test if camera is found or not, I need to call to one of my contacts...
It would be good if I can see the camera in a settings UI, so that I can grant the permissions to it without calling to a friend, and so on.
