Internal quality enhancements

(Not sure if this is the best place for a proposal for this project, but here it goes...)

I'd like to propose some enhancements to the internal quality of this project; the idea is to have it a bit more readable code-wise, have a more complete build flow and increase the stability.

Here are my ideas, let me know what you think:

• Use flake8 to detect PEP8-compliance for the code style and other neat stuff (like detecting unused variables etc);
• Use yanc and xtraceback to improve test failure output, making it easier to understand the errors;
• Integrate the project in GitHub with travis-ci, in order to have a Continuous Integration process. Similarly, we can use Coveralls to track code coverage;
• Increase code coverage, so that we feel more secure while evolving the project.

If you think these are fine, I can go on and implement them.
