@ozekik I'm reaching out from the deck.gl community. Congratulations on getting the ipydeck project started!

The work you are doing here is very similar to what we would like to do with pydeck for deck.gl v9. If you are open to collaborate with us in any form let us know.

You can also join the pydeck channel on the deck.gl / Open Visualization slack and we could chat there.

Regardless, can't wait to see where you take ipydeck.

Hi @ibgreen, thank you for your kind contact. I am happy to share ipydeck's results to pydeck, and will also be happy to collaborate and contribute.

The reason for developing a new binding as ipydeck was not only to adopt the awesome Anywidget, but also to implement some experimental features. Since pydeck has a large user base, releasing a sufficiently stable version will be a challenge to overcome among others. However, we can aim to release ipdeck/pydeck with minimal functionality initially, and even if yo plan to implement from scratch, I believe ipydeck's codebase will be helpful.

I will also try joining Slack!
