LinkedIn API changes #78

I recently saw this https://developer.linkedin.com/support/developer-program-transition. Are you guys aware of this? Will you update the API's to handle the changes? Or should I do something on my end? Please let me know your plan on this.

FYI, I spend a bit of time dig into this problem. After May 12, a lot of API's in this lib will be broken (eg. get_company_by_email_domain), unless you purchase a LinkedIn partner program. Basically, they are going to hide a bunch of endpoints for public access.

Has anyone applied for partner program access? Were you successful in doing it just as a small/for fun project?

mpiccirilli commented 9 years ago

I applied for the enhanced API access to update the R package but was rejected. This was LinkedIn's response:

Dear developer,

Thanks for submitting your application for enhanced API access through LinkedIn’s developer site. We have reviewed your application and determined that your use case does not qualify for enhanced API access. If you have further questions about the use cases we support through our open platform, please consult our developer site (https://developer.linkedin.com/) and our API terms of use (https://developer.linkedin.com/legal/api-terms-of-use).

Thanks again for being part of our developer community.

@mpiccirilli Were you able to get the access finally in other attempts?

mpiccirilli commented 8 years ago

@madhavij No, I wasn't unfortunately.
