LocalGoogle Folder #55

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Google Drive or Music Manager
2. Browse to "Users\%USER%\AppData\"
3. Check if there is a "LocalGoogle" folder

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected: There is *no* "LocalGoogle" folder in "\Users\%USER%\AppData\".
Instead: There is a "LocalGoogle" folder in "Users\%USER%\AppData\".

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Latest Chrome Dev, Drive, Music Manager on Win8 x64 and Win7 x64

Please provide any additional information below.

That folder is always empty. I assume someone forgot a slash in the code
somewhere that generates the "Users\%USER%\AppData\Local\Google\" folder which
ends up creating "LocalGoogle" instead.

Previously we narrowed it down to (at least) Google Drive installation.
Basically it appears to occur when the installer (un)registers
googledrivesync64.dll.

Hi Staneck -- this is an issue with Google Drive Sync, not with Omaha.
However, I've forwarded on your bug report to the Drive Sync team.

The bug has been identified and fixed internally. It should disappear once
that build comes out :)

Just commenting for progress, so far it's not fixed in 1.10.4769 released on
June 19th. Guess we have to wait a bit longer :)
