I noticed a considerable delay when switching tabs. This PR should fix it by

caching output of commands that won't change
not making windows dark more than once

Yep noticed that too. Sublime was noticeably faster once I removed the plugin. This can be confirmed by checking in Tools > Developer > Profile Plugins. On my end, the plugin used about 400s of time to respond to the event on_activated whereas the second longest was only about 2s.

Please consider merging this :tada:

I no longer have Sublime Text installed on my system so I can't test this, but it looks reasonable. Thanks!
