overlay metadata - possible tags for the mail, expected reading time, similar emails, similar emails from the similar group of senders
overlay metadata for mail drafts - language hints, expected time to get a response. etc.

transform email to a workspace - track and store browser links along with the email. specially useful for the newsletter readers.
