Issue Description:

Our programming society, once a vibrant hub of community engagement, has seen a decline in activity and interaction among its members. Previously, our seniors, such as @palash25 , @knrt10 , @arijeetsat and a lot more , fostered an environment of open discussion, idea exchange, and mutual trust and friendship among the people they spent time with and @oyesaurav @darthsalad @shubhasai put great efforts into reviving the community after the pandemic.

However, in recent times, there has been a noticeable lack of participation and enthusiasm among members, leading to a diminished sense of community spirit.

Members are no longer actively engaging in discussions, sharing ideas, or collaborating on projects as they used to.

While our society's GitHub thread once served as a primary platform for interaction like Discord, it is now underutilised, with members hardly interacting here.

The rich history left by our seniors, who were instrumental in building a strong community, is being overshadowed by the current lack of engagement. We risk losing the sense of identity and mutual trust and friendship they worked hard to establish.

Proposed Solution:

Reevaluate our communication channels and create a more interactive platform where members feel comfortable sharing ideas, asking questions, and engaging with one another. This could involve revitalising our GitHub thread or exploring alternative platforms such as Discord or Slack.

Initiate engagement initiatives such as writing articles and create engagement through social media to highlight the contributions and achievements of our past seniors. By showcasing the rich history and successes of our society, we aim to inspire current members to actively participate and contribute.

We should schedule regular community meetings or town halls where members can come together to discuss ideas, share updates, and provide feedback. These meetings will serve as a platform for fostering open communication and ensuring that every member's voice is heard.

By implementing these solutions, we aim to reignite the sense of community and collaboration within our programming society, honouring the legacy of our past seniors for the batches to come.

Glad that you are taking some steps for this issue, great!.

Let's have a meet after Advaita'24, about the same with all the existing members and previous active seniors, if I can arrange one. And it need not to be just once in a while meet, we can make it some bi-monthly informal meets for discussion, kt, community talks or even laugh for an hour. Will get to it with some better plans as I get some time.

Glad to see concerns being raised for what we also thought was a problem that persisted for the last two years or so. It's great to see our juniors taking the initiative to achieve a productive environment for the students. Really happy to see all the events being organized.

Would love to discuss things sometime soon.

Currently we have several OSS projects in progress, including :

Moreover, there's a lack of awareness about these initiatives in our college, even among PSoc'26 members.Let's aim to organize a meeting soon with our past and current seniors where they could highlight ongoing projects, how individuals can contribute, and also raise awareness about the history of PSoc..
