I feel the website is too clunky. Let me outline some issues visually:

In a bit of detail, rather than a carousel kinda project display board, maybe scrolling to reveal would be smoother.

Continuing,

Carousel slideshow are pain in mobiles and consume performance, for some design looks at this or maybe this. You could use the code for those as they are open sourced.

Weird idea: You could also apply deep dream styles to member photos and use a tooltip animation to make it quite unique.

Achievements.

A nice slider with visuals will look better. Example:

Here's a prototype design I made in Illustrator, if someone can write CSS/HTML, great!

Finally footnote:

I think it'll look nice if we reduce clutter and maximize for performance with a clean, minimal look. —

I suppose the front page photo could be rather substituted by a photo from a session or background video of something programming society will do in the future. Else, an outline of IIIT BBS would look nice too.
