This is just a slight modification off of https://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/projects/raspberrypi/tutorials/robot/morse_code/ I figured it made the most sense to use the star LED as the beacon, but I guess if people wanted to they could do the full tree with the LEDboard function.
could also be refactored a bit to handle errors a little better eg ask for different input if there are unacceptable characters in the input.
