Puyo Puyo~n sound problem #442

Open RoyTheDragon opened 6 years ago

RoyTheDragon commented 6 years ago

The sounds for puyo puyo~n seem to be a lower pitch than usual. I'm not sure what bitrate the sounds originally run on but for some weird reason the voices and sfx are just not well interpreted by your sound driver.

p1pkin commented 6 years ago

does the music plays well ? which ones exactly voices and sfx sounds wrong ?

RoyTheDragon commented 6 years ago

the music doesn't play either, but the sounds do, and every sound is wrong.

it looks like you have performance problems. does emulator run at full speed ? (ie displayed "SPG" number is 60) what is your PC specs ?

anyway, I cant reproduce issue here. PuyoPuyo4 sounds fine at my end

RoyTheDragon commented 6 years ago

my computer runs fine with the emulator, 59/60 fps 6100 AMD Zambezi nVidia GeForce 950 GTX 16 Gigs of RAM 1TB HDD 500GB SSD Windows 7 64x.

p1pkin commented 6 years ago

right, PC power is more than enough. but NV drivers may do weird crap, make sure to create profile for Demul and set there "Use maximum performance"

it also might be game image specific. do you use original GDI or CHD images, or some pirated CDI/etc ?

RoyTheDragon commented 6 years ago

The GDI is one of them ripped files, it works correctly on NullDC.

p1pkin commented 6 years ago

strange, should be fine then.

let me summarize - in Puyo Puyo 4 you hear no any music at all, only sound effects, and they are sounds "lower pitched"/stretched ?

yep
