Open AbandonedWitchStarlight opened 4 years ago

The recent release of Demul has the same rom namings from older MAME versions: Usagi - Yamashiro Hen: The rom name has changed but the game name is still the same as the old rom name (Usagui) Deathsmiles: It is the same 0.143 naming until now.

perhaps you using some older Demul version ? make sure you have latest one (Demul v0.7 180428) http://forum.emu-russia.net/viewtopic.php?p=26178#p26178

I'm using the new build (180428) and still has the same names in the romlist.

p1pkin commented 4 years ago

can you more clear describe the problem then ?

in MAME I see "Usagi - Yamashiro Mahjong Hen (Japan) (GDL-0022)" and in Demul "Usagi - Yamashiro Mahjong Hen (GDL-0022)" not sure if I see any problem here

AbandonedWitchStarlight commented 4 years ago

It is the naming of the game descriptions in the romlist, for Usagi: The wrong mahjong game MAME 0.130u2 and Demul: Usagui - Yamashiro Mahjong Hen (GDL-0022) MAME 0.180: Usagi - Yamashiro Mahjong Hen (Japan) (GDL-0022) Also the rom used to be named usagui before it was changed to usagiym. And for Deathsmiles and Deathsmiles MegaBlack Label (Demul added Cave CV1000 but still use the old MAME description): One whole word MAME 0.143u2 and Demul: Death Smiles (2007/10/09 MASTER VER) MAME 0.143: Deathsmiles (2007/10/09 MASTER VER) Strangely enough, it was removed in 0.144, but it was re added again in 0.153 For Deathsmiles MegaBlack Label: MAME 0.153: Deathsmiles MegaBlack Label (2008/10/06 MEGABLACK LABEL VER) The full game name in Demul is Death Smiles Mega Black Label (2008/10/06 MEGABLACK LABEL VER). I know the Deathsmiles title as a one compound word but not two separate words.

I see, agree about Deathsmiles correct name. Usagui - I was told it is not incorrect romanisation, so I'll leave it as is. in general - in many cases there is more than one possible valid Japanese-to-English translation variant, and I may not like the one in MAME and have it in Demul in other way.
