Rigify hand bones animation issue #8

Hello,

when constraining a rigify rig with a mixamo animation, everything works fine except for the hands:

Is this a known issue?

What could be the cause?

Hi, I have seen it happen sometimes when for some reason the fingers couldn't follow. Are they being animated in the wrong place or do they just lag behind? Does it happen on both IK and FK controls?

You can send me a .blend file containing just the armatures if you wish

Hello! sorry for the delay. It happens both in IK and FK and they are just animated in the wrong place.

I'm afraid I no longer have the .blend file with me.

Hi,

if you look into the layers of the animated armature you will find the target bones layer.

these are supposed to match the bones of your original character. Whenever that doesn't happen, you have those results. If you send me a .blend files with the two armatures I can try to figure out what is wrong, otherwise you can try to adjust the retarget bones manually

Hi, thanks for the reply, I found the layer and the bones but the constraints seem ok in the bone properties panel. How do I retarget the bones manually? Here are the screenshot rig_problem rig_problem2

Wanted to also ask how do I send you the blend file privately since it's a project I am working on and I can't upload it here. Thanks very much :)
