URGENT: Discussion on PR 1689 #1692

PR #1691 has modified the documentation in 2 ways:

  1. The formatting has been changed
  2. Certain technical statements have been corrected by @abuts

Because of the wholesale nature of the changes, it is difficult to isolate the important technical issues here. I have therefore asked @abuts to highlight just the technical errors present so we can make sure these changes are being applied correctly.

These highlights should be done urgently to enable us to proceed with this.
