Remove dependency on caTools #13

From Kurt Hornik, with respect to caTools:

We have repeatedly asked for an update fixing the check problems shown on https://cran.r-project.org/web/checks/check_results_caTools.html with no reply from the maintainer thus far.

Thus, package caTools is now scheduled for archival on 2018-07-19, and archiving this will necessitate also archiving its strong reverse dependencies.

Please negotiate the necessary actions.

I believe that the only thing we use caTools for is to calculate a moving average. This isn't that hard to do ourselves, and there may be other packages that easily give us this simple functionality. Swap out the functionality and discontinue use of caTools.

July 19 is the deadline, and that's not very far away...
