The ncWMS test script connects to the database, gets a list of all files in a given ensemble, and requests each one of them from the specified ncWMS instance.. It's pretty useful for making sure a given instance of ncWMS can serve a give data application. It woudl be even more useful if it worked with ncWMS 2.
