This is really bad UX, we need to address this!
As I can see, when I like something on smartlike.org, I still need to "boost my likes" via browser extension so the action will take an effect. It is the same via a browser extension. "boost my likes" is not self-explanatory and nobody will know that liking is just a pledge that needs verification.
I suggest we change the action "boost my likes" to something better and that we show notifications on every like (toast on mobile/web) with information that they have only made a pledge with this like, and to save they need to settle them. We can, of course, ask the marketing department to come up with a better copy for it so it will be more clear to casual users.
"review and settle pledges" is difficult to explain. @belanto suggested we have a dynamically changing menu showing a different explanation each time: "boost my likes"/"review and settle pledges"/"turn likes into smartlikes"...
We have agreed that we don't spoil free-tier UX with a "call for action" on every like.
@bumTomica @vadim-frolov This bug report is about inconsistencies when liking items and comments vs liking channels caused by the node and/or importer bug, not about general UX of the pledge settlement process.
when press like button on channel page from subscriptions, the like goes without confirmation (refresh page -> the sum increased). though to like content via extension the confirmation needed ("boost my likes")
