• golem: gives the compution to multiple parties to verify correctness. payment is made afterwards based on the self-reported values of the solver. to estimate time an efficiency ratio is maintained on chain.
• truebit: only one party computes the solution. a large pot is filled for verifiers, and the chain randomly forces solvers to insert an error for verifiers to claim the pot. when a verifier claim the solver made a mistake an interactive verification game is started where the state of the wasm engine is compared until the discrepancy is found. a judge ajudicates who is right.
• grid computing: they work through altruism, incentive structures aren't common. sometimes scientific problems that are computationally hard are turned into a computer game to get humans to solve them.
