Please enable dnsmasq's auth feature #1467

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. add auth-server auth-zone parameters to dnsmasq config
2. restart dnsmasq

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
No output is the output expected. Instead, an error was shown, and dnsmasq
failed to start.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
rt-n56u 3.4.3.9-091

Please describe the problem as detailed as it's possible.
If you have connection problem, then syslog file is required. (please do
attach it as a file)
Note that if there will be a poor problem description the issue status will
be changed to 'Invalid'!

Afterward I learnt that the auth feature of dnsmasq is a compile time option,
and it is excluded from build.
Would you please include that feature?

You can use the "Custom Configuration File "dnsmasq.conf"" at page
http://my.router/Advanced_DHCP_Content.asp.

Also, you can add all needed features to your firmware:

Didn't know why it's not included, the executable would just be a few kb
larger. Now I realized that it should be kept excluded, at least until the
following bug is fixed.
