CY-SW1100 Build Target "invalid image file" #761

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
I have a samsung CY-SWR1100 router - upon doing a build of your firmware to the
SWR1100 target I receive a TRX file.

When I upload the TRX file to the router via the web interface I get the error
"Invalid Image File".

Any idea what the cause is?

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
CY-SWR1100 original firmware used different image header.

First flash firmware possible only via emergency utility (TFTP) or via UART
console. Any next custom firmware updates will be available via WebGUI.

Is there a particular process to getting the SWR1100 to flash from TFTP?

I've used the Linksys TFTP2 program and offered it a TRX file but it does not
flash. Suggestions?

Try to use ASUS Firmware Restoration Utility (TFTP client for Ralink uboot)
from N56U utilites.

What IP address should I be setting my NIC to, and which port should I plug the
LAN cable into?

192.168.0.10 and 192.168.1.10 both don't work.

Turn off SWR-1100. Press and hold reset button and turn on router. Wait 5
second and relase reset button. Router now "Emergency Mode" and IP adress
10.10.10.123.

Connect router to network cable. Close Firewall & Anti Virus program in your
PC. Turn off wireless network adapter. Change your Ethernet Card settings ; ip
10.10.10.224 Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway : Empty

In your internet browser, router now reachable via 10.10.10.123 "Emergency Mode"

It's what I know. I can't find any emergency rom and tftp updater for SWR-1100.

Can you give me information about your work?

Thanks for the reply, that's exactly the info I needed.

I have no work as yet, I was merely wanting to install this firmware on my
device to improve it's wireless capabilities and provide feedback, and
potentially contribute some basic bugfixes.

Is the firmware in a working condition on the device as yet?

I have two of these routers.

Interestingly enough I am unable to even reach the router via the above
settings... the router remains unreachable. Is there a specific port number I
should plug into?

Same problem here. I tried using the "Emergency Mode" to upload the TRX file
but it still saying "Invalid Image File"

On my SWR1100, the emergency mode webserver is 192.168.0.1 probed using the
serial connection.

Still haven't managed to update the firmware.

I tried sending a trx to the emergency webserver, it just fails and reboots.
Tried removing the first 32 bytes and renaming *.bin. Also fails.

Sent the trx to bootloader as option 1 copy to sdram and execute, it works with
the trx file, but fails to boot sucessfully.

Log as follows:

Info on the serial debug terminal:

JP1 Pin 1: RX (pin 1 is first pin on left further away from all the others,
its also square which is the usual keying indicator)
JP1 Pin 2: 3.3vdc
JP1 Pin 1: GND
JP1 Pin 1: TX

Baud is 57600,8,N,1 no hardware handshake (obviously)

I used a TTL-3.3-USB converter from RS Components, a MAX232 IC type device
would also work.

Part details:
429-303 $25.00 RS232 to USB converter cable,with wire ends,TTL-232R-3v3-WE

Hello,

Do I need Linux machine in order to flash TRX file to CY-SWR1100 router serial
debug terminal ?

I have TTL-3.3-USB converter. I need help with instructions on the flashing
process please.

Thank you!

No, you don't need linux. Please read here
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=82160&postdays=0&postorder=asc&star
t=0. Flashing procedure is about same.

Sorry to bring this back.
Is this file SWR1100_3.4.3.7-078.trx the modified rt-n56u firmware?

I do tried both ways(WebGUI and Emergency Mode) to do it, both showed "Invalid
Image File"

I am newbie to the console/serial part. Can anyone tell me what to do next?

Thanks

I read a lot of differences how to put the firmware on the swr1100 router. Can
you please explain the best way how to get it work. I tried the last base-trx
file. It will not flash. Even in Emergency Mode (IP is 192.168.0.1). The ASUS
Firmware Restoration Utility can't connect te router. I'm looking forward tot
use your firmware.

Thanks for the work, but without detailed instructions on how to install the
firmware on CY-SWR1100, the work is useless. It is like giving a starving child
a locked box, which has foods in it, without the key.
Please give us the instructions.

Thanks harry... for the response. It seems the developers has abandoned
CY-SWR1100. I have wasted a few hours today. I think I would rather buy a new
router that are compatible with WRT softwares.
