Order of event and layout of bar

Q1:
It seems that time line displays events by start time ascending, even in
the .xml file I put them in different order.

Is there a way to force it to display as the <event> order defined in the
.xml file?

Q2:
Is there a document to help me adjust the layout of event bar? Like font size.

I have about 40 events happen in one year, then the event bars look very
thin, title size to big and one event bar overlap the timeline label. The
second band only show five bars, it does not make sense.  
(container height is 500px, first band height is 100px, second 400px).

New to this tool, thank you in advance for everyone's help!
