VPN does not tunnel/encrypt (blocked sites inaccessible) #94

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Installed openvpn successfully, including server authentication files.
Connect to server successfully.
2.Blocked websites inaccessible (from China). www.whatismyip.com confirms
browser traffic is going through the vpn, however blocked websites (like
facebook) are still inaccessible.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The windows version with the same vpn account successfully tunnels to blocked
websites.

What version of the product are you using?
2.1.1

Which Android phone are you using?

Which firmware version are you using?

Please provide any additional information below.

Make sure you're using a DNS server from your tunnel instead the providers one.
It's working for me from China.

Good point! Was the DNS Server the reason?
Then I'll merge this with other DNS tickets.

No, it doesn't seem that the dns was the problem, as i tried using their dns
server while trouble shooting aswell. in the end i used another solution.
