Support for mapsforge Background #172

It would be great, if there would be an option for offline tracking with 
background.
Mapsforge is a a very good approuch for that, because it's offline vector 
rendering of openstreetmap.

The API is quite easy to understand, it works quite similar to the google maps 
API.

Yes, that would be very, very great! It would reduce the data usage and relieve 
the OSM servers! Thats a very good idea!

P. S. Shouldn't the type be "Enhancement" instead of "Defect"?

I saw it in the c:geo app. this would be fine. you only have to download 
several maps, you can choose the map, zoom in zoom out works fast.

Hi, sorry for not replying earlier but I stopped getting notifications for new 
issues for some reason.

That would mean switching from OSMDroid that we're currently using to a new 
library. I'm not too keen on that especially since I didn't do the OSMDroid 
part myself...

What about using the offline features of OSMDroid ?
