Background map should show more details

When I'm recording a track my intention is usually to add more detailed 
information to the OSM maps, e.g. for a postbox, a park bench, or similar.

If I look at the background map and see e.g. there's no entry for a postbox I'm 
adding such entry on my smartphone.

However, after I've uploaded my track and look at it at the OSM web page I 
often see there is already an entry for a piece of information I've added while 
I was on my way.

So my efforts are to no purpose in such case. If the background map showed me 
the existing entry for a postbox I wouldn't have needed to add one.

So my request is to have the background maps show all details. Or am I just 
missing something?

It just uses the map tiles from osm.org as the background so they can't be 
changed within this app. In order to display more details than that it would 
have to have a local copy of all of the OSM data in the area and a 
sophisticated rendering engine. If you want that, you should probably look at 
OsmAnd.
