Does not work on my Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S i897) #66

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Install APN Droid on Samsung captivate
2.Try to Disable 3G
3.APN values show as appended by text 'apndroid' but 3G connection still works.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the mobile data to switch off but it doesnt. I can still see the 3G
icon on the nitification bar and even use the connection (browser, check email
and all that stuff)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I am using the latest 2.1.3 version. installed it yesterday. I am using it on
Android version 2.1

Please provide any additional information below.
I have tried APNDroid when my phone was rooted and it didnt work then. I have
rooted by phone and it still doesnt work.

On my captivate, if I turn off APN using this app,I cannot switch back on. The
only way to turn on is to reboot the device.Tried uninstalling and
re-installing the app, results are same. Suggest any steps to be followed if you
have a solution. My device is no rooted.

Same issue. Does not work on my Captivate. In fact, it killed my 3G until I
reinstalled it, verified 3G worked, and uninstalled it again.

I have the same issue. This morning I emailed the developer and I'm waiting for
response. I'll post it here if he does.

I have the same issue so I searched more to find SMODA widget, it serves me
fine on my captivate. It is easy to switch ON OFF 3G with it.

Try a new development build.
Version 2.5 beta that has a new internal toggle method that may work better and
faster for you.

I installed v2.5 beta and it's working perfect on my Captivate. Since AT&T
does not allow side loading I used Android Central's Android Sideload Wonder
Machine

oad-wonder-machine.html

BTW the new widget is very nice.

Are there plans to change the icon? Something with a bit more of a stock look?
Not really a huge fan of the big red/green off/on icons unfortunately. :(

Quick Settings
by Sergej Shafarenka seems to work fine and simply for shutting off 3g among
other things.

I am using SMODA widget to turn on/off 3G network. Works as charm. Doesn't
need restart.

SMODA works like charm for my captivate.

Another inconvenient option that worked was *#*#4636#*#* trick.
