Not sure why no supporting links were added to the description, but the project's github page was indeed put into archive mode in January, 2023:

Message from dev on that page:

Due to a lack of free time over the past year, I've decided to pause the development of PV8 for the foreseeable future. The code is still open source and free for everyone to fork, modify, and use. I hope to return to this project when I can give it more of my attention and thank everyone for their support over the years.

I'm guessing the fix here is to move to the Retired list?

theswordsgame commented 1 year ago

Yes that would be the fix

January, 2023 is not very long ago, I suggest to wait for a little longer to put it to the retired list. Until then, let's keep this issue open.

OK so thinking on this further ...

Yeah it can be hard to say what the right amount of time to wait is, even for a project like this one who put itself into archive mode.

If the project is still usable and useful to the community, there's no reason not to leave it on the main page.

I suppose there should be more tangible criteria, like it stops working on recent versions of its intended platform(s) due to lack of updates, etc.

PS: Also realizing we could ping @PixelVision8 as a courtesy

One idea I had would be to put the year of the last update in a new column. That way old (but working) fantasy consoles could be kept on the list, while also giving people a bit of a clue that they may not be actively worked on or supported anymore.

I've opened #101 to gauge interest. What do you all think?
