Font rendering different after install

Which specific type?  Open Sans Condensed.

Which files did you copy to your C:\WINDOWS\Fonts directory (i.e. installed 
into Windows)?
OpenSans-CondBold.ttf
OpenSans-CondLight.ttf
OpenSans-CondLightItalix.ttf

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Visit page with text produced styled with the font. (see attached image #1)
2. Install the downloaded ttf fonts locally
3. Visit page with text produced styled with the font again. (see attached 
image #2)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the fonts to be the same.  Instead I see the result from the images 
taken below.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Browser: FireFox 14.0.1
Operating System: Windows XP

Please provide any additional information below.
Work around: uninstall the font locally to regain font beauty.
