Doug, give this a try and see if you get the obnoxious error message attached here.
This does not happen with Character, Schema, or Reference nodes. Select a Schema, select a character, select a state. Now try to change the Schema at the top so you can look at a state in a different schema. That's when this message pops up and the browser tab freezes. This is not an issue for the other nodes and I'm not sure why it's happening.
