Timed out waiting for download mode

My device wont reconnect in download mode. i have tried the solutions from the troubleshooting page, they didn't help. It boots to normal mode if left plugged in, and boots to recovery mode if unplugged.

I got the same issue with IOS 16.7.8 on my iPhone 8, Ubuntu 22.04 Laptop, USB-C cable

nice job entering dfu with usb-c lol, as for download mode unfortunately this is a case of trying different ports and cables, unfortunately this isnt really fixable by the palera1n team
