A huge number of nations have no representation, albeit, under the ISO standards some of these countries aren't really countries. Examples of those include Puerto Rico and two sets of Virgin Islands.
A small portion of these nations have no true media outlets at all. For example, North Korea has only a state-run propaganda service known as Uriminzokkiri, at https://twitter.com/uriminzok . I don't know what's left in Afghanistan, if anything.
Some of these places are smaller in population, sure. But ... Algeria has about 45 million people. Bangladesh has about 166 million people. China has about 1,412 million people. The existing inventory skews heavily toward English-speaking countries.
It might be possible to poach a membership list from somewhere else (e.g., ICIJ) and see what gaps can be filled in that way.
