Upgrade dev and runtime deps and stay on the Ruby edge.

What changes did you make? (overview)

[x] Upgraded Ruby Next to 0.8
[x] Enabled autotranspiling to allow installing from source
[x] Migrated to endless methods and rassing where appropriate
