Current Challenges:
Testers find the current process cumbersome and time-consuming, leading to delays in feedback.
Managing device UDIDs for iOS Ad Hoc distribution is inefficient.
Testers are sometimes unaware of new updates, missing out on testing the latest features.
Proposed Solutions:
For iOS:
TestFlight Integration: Utilize Apple's TestFlight for distributing beta versions of the app. This will simplify installations and updates for testers.
Explore Ad Hoc Distribution Enhancements: Improve our current Ad Hoc distribution process for a smoother tester experience, including automating UDID collection and provisioning profile updates.
Consider Enterprise Distribution for Larger Scale Internal Testing: Evaluate the feasibility of using Apple's Enterprise Program for distributing the app within our organization.
For Android:
Google Play's Internal Testing Track: Adopt Google Play’s internal testing track for distributing the app to a limited number of testers, ensuring they receive updates automatically.
Expand to Beta Testing / Closed Testing Tracks: Set up closed testing tracks to accommodate more testers and facilitate a broader range of feedback.
Direct APK Distribution Strategy: Implement a secure and straightforward way for testers to download and install the APK directly, possibly through an automated email system or a private section of our website.
