Thank you for this. Sorry about the wait, I forgot about the PR :slightly_frowning_face:

The indentation seems a bit off. I wonder whether we should require only the ORCID id, not the URL? Or maybe make the URL part optional?

One could also look into more details: are there other PID that could go under this, then having "orcid as a variable ?

Datacite use that (nameIdentifier, nameIdentifierScheme, schemeURI)

crossref does not.
