please no Before this, think about every existing public protected space owned by inactive players.
I think this should be looked at on a case by case basis. Removing 'inactive players' areas will create such problems as The4Codeblocks described, but also there are players who come back after several years very happy that their old works have not been demolished.
However I do see that some never completed works stretching large area's would be up for repurposing. So if you have a specific case in mind, please don't hesitate to contact staff about it. Let us know your plans and we'll be most happy to discuss it.

In general: no
But as MCLV mentioned: this can be done on a case-by-case basis:

Inactive player is player Wich dont login for 2 months.
I'm curious as to what exactly made you wish for this.
(also, 2 months is a ridiculously short amont of time)
For example this load server resousces because Protected arenas isnt deleted by script.

Either contact moderators in game, post message in game to #reports channel or you can also ask about specific area here on this issue while it is still active.
Would be good to provide reason why you want to use that area or why you think it should be removed or changed. Server resource usage is not valid reason for areas unless you find something extraordinary like million very small areas.
Some rich mines on the moon have been protected by some long gone players. As in gone for 2+ years. I wouldn't vote against having those protections on mines lifted.

I removed a few of them already but those should be reported and removed on a case-by-case basis, not automated IMO.
Huhhila Regarding [in-game#355], I'd vote for /deleteblocks of such old-mapgen mines besides just deleting the area :)

Yet, the Moon is largely unexplored, so the point is somewhat moot, no?
AFAIK, I wouldn't know how to define "long gone" -- E.g. I play less, and sometimes I don't connect for months, as free time gets scarce by moments... but one thing I sure appreciate, is when I do connect after a while, all my old things are still here, and I can go on working on my projects, even if at a slower pace than before ;)
This being said, a case-by-case basis does not preclude courtesy: an in-game mail to the land-owner might still be a good step to take before calling on the Powers-that-Rule. ('Cause some people might check their in-game mails more often than they play. Er. I think I do it at least, lol).
