3 months ago Suggestions as mentioned above, listed for easy access, with suggested recipes. Adjust where needed.
- Craft wool -
- Craft paper - compress 6 blocks of feather into 1 paper sheet
- Craft plastic - compress 9 blocks of feather into 1 plastic sheet
- Craft blocks of feather for burning - 9 feathers
- Craft them into cushions - 2 wool + 5 blocks of feathers
- Craft animal fodder -
- Craft glider - 2 sticks 1 honey(jar) 6 blocks of compressed feathers
- Craft arrows and bolts - 1 flint + 3 feathers + 1 stick
- Make biofuel processors able to accept feathers for fuel.
Hedgehog Create a few more recipes to make use of feathers, such as perhaps a way to make (fake) wool, so it can be used for making beds, turn it into paper for books, turn it into plastic. Turn them into blocks of feather that are able to be burnt
SwissalpS Make feather bricks for burning. I'm not too keen to make wool out of feathers, but I wouldn't be opposed to alternative recipes for things like cushions.
Hedgehog Real world usage is either what SwissalpS suggested, or turn it into paper or plastic or even in food for animals.
SwissalpS Gliders might work too, as homage to that greek myth.

SwissalpS An alternative glider recipe, no need for a new mod ;) 2 sticks, 1 honey(maybe a jar) and 6 feathers 6 are too few, better that burnable compressed feather craft item I mentioned. No need to make it a node
SX Actual cost (time/effort) for alternate recipe should not be too far from original recipe for it to be good enough / actually useful. Would a full jar of honey be a bit too much as both feathers and honey requires a bit more work than just wool?
Hedgehog Considering there are hundreds of feathers in Ecoport right now, plus Ecoport now has a storage for them ... Might be an interesting item to see appear in some shops once there are more recipes for the use of it.
FeXoR I like the idea about alternative glider recipe - but that won't really add MASS for feathers for you also only need few gliders. For fuel there will likely always be a bit of demand :) (Though I would prefer to just remove the feather - it's just clutter really). Oh, what about using feathers for arrows and bolts? (Not that those were widely used - but if probably in decent quantities )
AceRichman +1 for arrow recipe, we have flint too.
SwissalpS +1 to arrows we could also just make them work with biofuel processors, that would be a relatively quick sink for them. We can't entirely get rid of feathers, they are needed for magic wand.
FeXoR +1 for biofuel (which could probably make the feather block unrequired ;)
