rendered notebook #3

Is there a rendered version of this work, with outputs, somewhere, so that I can show how well astro could be done on big data with dask? @wtbarnes

Not currently, but I'll try running it on binder and then saving a rendered copy as a gist. I'll post the link here when that is done.

However, if I remember right, the last time I tried running this notebook on binder I had some issues getting the cluster to start up.

Does it run on https://astro.pangeo.io ? Also, did anything resulting from this get published?

Seems to be working well on binder now. I haven't tried astro.pangeo.io in a while. If things start to go sideways on binder I'll give it a try.

There was never anything directly published from this example no. However, I currently have an ApJ paper under review and another in prep where I used Dask to do this exact calculation on a different data set.

Also, I think @rabernat did show this notebook at one of the EarthCube workshops.
