I'm interested in this meeting but not sure:
This conflicts with the weekly Dask developer meeting, which runs 11:00-11:30am EST every Thursday. Is there appetite to move this meeting slightly one way or the other?

@rsignell-usgs you're entirely welcome.
It should be noted though that this isn't a general purpose pangeo meeting. It's more about focusing on the needs of and engagement with the UK Met office. If you had things that you think they would be interested in, or believe that there is opportunity to engage them then please do stop by!
Matt, your presence is highly valued. I’m fine with pushing it back an hour if this works for others.

That’s better for me. Let’s see what the UK folks say.
Rich, you’re welcome to join.

You're more than welcome Rich.
My preference would be to make it earlier rather than later. But if that's a problem then I can stay later.

This makes it harder for people on the US west coast who might want to participate though, like @jhamman . The current start time is 8am their time

Ok let's go with 11:30 EST, but I may only be able to be around for 30 minutes.
Alternatively you all could get started without me and I could jump in after 20 minutes or so. At this point I think that @jacobtomlinson's involvement is probably more valuable than mine.
Long term we might consider moving this meeting to another day. Perhaps Wednesday or Thursday? This particular hour is in high demand, being probably the most convenient for US West, US East, and Western Europe.

Yes lets do that. We will start at 11 EST as originally planned.

@jacobtomlinson if you're around and want to chat about the dask helm chart and adaptivity I'd also welcome some of your time separately from the larger group. I'm around starting now.

Also, we never came back to the new time for the meeting. Does 8AM PST / 11 AM EST / 4PM GMT work for everyone if we move to the first Wednesday of each month?
That time works for me, and it is generally easier for me to make work.
Hi, we, from ECMWF, would like to get more actively involved in Pangeo. Since we have a similar profile with the Met Office we would like to learn more of what you are already doing. Would it be okay for us to join the next monthly call? Happy to explore any future collaboration to show Pangeo in action on ECMWF/Copernicus data. Cheers Stephan
@StephanSiemen - please do join the next call.
Are folks available next Wednesday at 8AM PST / 11 AM EST / 4PM GMT?
I may not be able to make that time this week. I'm busy with other meetings M-W next week.

@jhamman - next Wed (June 6) most of us (including you!) will be at the EarthCube All Hands Meeting. So I think we should postpone until the following week: Wednesday June 13.
Also, I meant to say...
YES @StephanSiemen we really welcome involvement of ECMWF. Obviously you provide some of the most valuable (and voluminous!) weather and climate data products in the world. It is very important to our users to be able to interface with ECMWF data.
Our vision for Pangeo is evolving rapidly in response to input from the various groups who are getting involved.
We will be happy to share the details of what we have been working on in the call. We will also likely have some questions for you, as many of us are quite curious about ECMWFs plans in this area. For example:
Looking forward to chatting with you in a few weeks time.
Welcome to Pangeo @StephanSiemen! Maybe it would be better to set up an initial call to chat about how ECMWF could be involved in the project?
Also - don't hesitate to get stuck in by raising issues on the repo. Lots of people have been opening introduction issues to say hi to the broader community.
@mrocklin @rabernat @jhamman I've got this in my calendar for today, are you all around?
As I mentioned earlier up the thread (https://github.com/pangeo-data/pangeo/issues/76#issuecomment-393253611) we are at the EarthCube meeting and aren’t available to meet today. Are you free same time next week?
My bad! Afraid not, how about tomorrow or Thursday next week?
Thanks for all the welcoming messages. We are very happy to have a telco to present the Copernicus Climate Data Store toolbox (in short the toolbox uses xarray). Next week is a bit tight put perhaps we can have a separate call in two weeks time? I will set something up ... Next week is fine with me in general, but I will be on mission, and might not be able to talk much depending on what corner I find to join ;-)
Great! Could you raise a separate issue to arrange that call @StephanSiemen?
You also may want to check out #40 and add comments there.
Thanks @jacobtomlinson, created #302 .
Can we hold the met-office / Pangeo monthly telecon on Friday, June 15? My whole day is open.
This call will return to its original scope: coordination between the UK Met Office team and the US NSF-funded team.
We will soon announce a plan for a more general purpose recurring meeting.
Sure. As it is a Friday I would prefer to do it at 4pm-5pm BST (UTC+1) at the very latest, but I appreciate there are others in very different time zones!
Friday 15th, any time between 2pm - 6pm is fine with me
@StephanSiemen this for arranging is the Met Office/EarthCube meeting. Let's continue arranging the ECMWF/Pangeo meeting in #302 and not here.
@rabernat @jhamman @mrocklin Are we on for this today?
I do happen to be free, but that's only because the rest of my household is out of town. Given the US holiday I suspect that it's probably better to delay. Maybe this Friday or next Monday instead?

Good point I forgot the date! Let's catch up next week sometime. I'll comment on here to arrange.
Yes sorry...I’m not really available for this today. But I look forward to catching up soon.
After July 10 I will be in Italy but still generally available online.

If you fancy a trip to Innsbruck and the Tirolean mountains: let me know!
Do we have a call tomorrow morning (US) / afternoon (UK)?
I'm more than happy to have a call. However with the general meeting only about 10 days away perhaps we should save it for then?
I’m fine saving it for a couple weeks.

Ok. I haven't heard from anyone on this except @jacobtomlinson. I think @rabernat is traveling, and we are all going to be meeting face-to-face in less than 2 weeks. So, let's cancel this call this morning. ...Unless anyone has any critical issues to discuss?

On my calendar, tomorrow is supposed to be our next checking with the UK MetOffice Informatics Lab. The last time we brought this up, though, we discussed having meetings only when needed (and for specific technical topics). Is that the case? Do we have anything to discuss tomorrow?
ping @jacobtomlinson @niallrobinson @jhamman @rabernat @mrocklin
I am available. I think a checkin would be useful provided we can achieve a quorum.
I think we should have a catch up soon. However I cant do today I'm afraid!
I am available but it sounds like the Met office folks are not.
Joe and Kevin, I'd be happy to have a quick chat if you think it would be useful.
I think it would be useful. I’ll be on in an hour.

We are thrilled that the UK met office wants to collaborate with pangeo on their analytics platform. @alberto-arribas proposed to have a monthly call to help coordinate development efforts. This issue is to help us organize this monthly call.
